- Summary
- Letter from Brenda Mallory, chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality to WHEJAC co-chairs Richard Moore and Peggy M. Shepard. The Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) responded to a letter from WHEJAC co-chairs, thanking them for their work and providing updates on several key environmental justice initiatives. CEQ confirmed efforts to secure resources for WHEJAC, including collaboration with the EPA for administrative support and expert input. Updates were shared on the Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool, the Environmental Justice Scorecard, the Justice40 Initiative, and the update to Executive Order 12898, all scheduled for progress in summer 2022. CEQ also emphasized improving coordination between WHEJAC and the Interagency Council (IAC) and supporting public engagement through agency participation in WHEJAC meetings.
