Photos from Transforming Our Trash Systems: Environmental Justice and Zero Waste Policies, taught by Ana Baptista, Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in Environmental Policy and Sustainability Management. Garbage is one of the most visible manifestations of environmental injustice in our society. In this skills lab, participants learned about the innovative approaches to improve the current waste management systems in NYC and the concept of zero waste and zero waste policies for the region that can be pursued to achieve environmental justice. This was part of TEDC's 2016 Skills Labs, which were workshops on pressing environmental issues, taught by Tishman Center Affiliated Faculty.

Her Aronson Fellowship project, Meet the Fishers, builds on this foundation by telling the stories of small-scale fishers and shedding light on the realities of daily life in coastal communities across the Philippines.
